This unit is designed to remove crude oil from
25,000 BPD of produced salt water. Separation of the oil droplets from the continuous water
phase is achieved by enhanced gravity separation utilizing multiple
hydrocyclones. Clean water exits
the hydrocyclones and enters a degassing/surge tank and then is discharged
overboard. Oil removed by the
hydrocyclones enters a reject oil surge drum and is then recombined with the
primary produced oil stream.
